Abbaye Royale du Moncel
Discover a Royal Abbey. Founded in 1309 by Philip the Fair, the Royal Abbey of Moncel welcomed the nuns of Sainte Claire until the Revolution. Today you can immerse yourself in the daily life of the nuns thanks to the reconstitution of the rooms of the Middle Ages: Refectory with frescoes, dormitories under the hundred-year-old framework, gigantic vaulted cellars... The furnishings of the rooms and the mannequins presenting the Poor Clares in their daily activities allow you to truly feel the atmosphere of meditation and prayer that the "poor ladies" experienced. During the summer season, exhibitions and events complete the visit of the abbey and the 6 hectares of the park in which the remains of the castle of the King of Fécamp are located.
